One of the most difficult tasks of being an executor or trustee is managing family dynamics and expectations. The executor must be careful not to take instructions from a beneficiary, or to let one beneficiary influence her views or decisions with respect to the other beneficiaries. This can be an easy trap to fall into if one of the beneficiaries is more vocal than the others, or has more direct access to the executrix (e.g., where one beneficiary lives in the same town as the executrix, and the other beneficiaries live out of province).
